Greetings!

FOUR SEASONS
What a couple of weeks we have had! Winds blowing, rain
falling in huge drops, then the suns out and hot! Four seasons
in one day indeed! It's amazing how many peoples moods are
calibrated to the weather. We all do it don't we? When the suns
out, we smile more. But sometimes it seems no matter what the
weather does we are unhappy with its decision.

So whats that doing to my skin? Equally importantly whats my
mood doing to my skin? Those chemical reactions must be hard
work to keep up with sometimes. But we can prepare and combat
the effects of weather not only for our moods (and conversations ;-)
but also for our skin.

SKIN & WEATHER
In summer (& spring), harsh weather conditions like chilly winds
& blazing sun can exist together, causing skin to wear out. Our
skin dries out, feels tight, irritated & sensitised. Reinforce skin's
natural barrier (with a good moisturiser) & lock in moisture to
relieve the driest, most sensitised skin conditions. This restores
strength to weak, damaged skin & defends it against future attacks.

In temperate conditions, the chilly weather can hide the fact that
your skin is beginning to fry under the sun. In some cases, you'll
only feel the full effects of a sunburn after 24 hours. Pacify fragile,
burnt skin with something soothing & hydrating like cucumber
slices, aloe vera gel or a sun repair mask.

Most importantly of all, no matter what the weather conditions, be
sure to apply your sunscreen before going out into that indecisive
weather & re-apply regularly!!

BEAUTY TIP
Here's my Beauty Tip for this week:
(Please email me with your feedback)

For a great moisturiser try olive oil. This healthy fat is good for you
& is great for your skin. You can also use it to soothe sunburned
skin.

And some more information about the wonders of water:
* Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as
much as 3%.
* One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for
almost 100% of dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
* Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
* Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day
could significantly ease back & joint pain.
* A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory,
trouble with basic maths, & difficulty focusing on the computer screen
or on a printed page.

Have a great week!
